I need to move some plants in my garden, what's the best way to do this?

I have to move some plants in my garden but they are just starting to grow again after the winter. I have 2 lupin plants, a forget-me-not that is already in flower and a holly hock as well as aquilegia. I know it's not an ideal time to move them but they have to be moved. Any advice about the best way to go about this?
