What is the part called for my M44 rifle that has the bayonet mount on it?

i bought a 1945 M44 from my local hock shop and the bayonet mount was filed off. Why the old owner didnt just get a M38 or whatever i dont know. I though the part is called the muzzle or barrel, but i havnt been able to find a replacement part so that i can get a bayonet for it. do you know where i could get this part or what the technical name is for it?
