Is it possible to recover deleted photos from my I phone 4?

I deleted some photos of an assault case off of my I phone 4 and was wondering if there is a way to possibly recover them? I've heard of forensics being able to recover deleted data off of computer hard drives and was wondering if there is a way to do so with the I phone.
